Inclusive Access isn't free (unfortunately), but it's available to you at the lowest possible cost. Here are some of the logistics:
When will I be charged?
It varies by school. Most Inclusive Access models will bill your account after the trial period ends on the add/drop deadline - you will be billed unless you are opted out when the deadline passes. Other schools bill your student account at registration and then provide a refund if you're opted out after the deadline. Your school will share the finer details with you when the course begins and again around that add/drop date.
How much will I be charged?
As for exact pricing, your school negotiates a unique deal with the publisher in order to offer the materials at the most affordable rate. Again, it varies by school - your bookstore will have the most accurate info for your particular course.
If you are opted out, you will not be charged.
I’m a professor/TA - how do I avoid being charged?
We agree that you shouldn’t have to pay for materials you’re teaching! Our system notes that you're a TA or professor and marks your account as non-billable (note that the system also removes the opt-out button). If you get an email warning that you’ll be billed unless you opt out, you can ignore it - you just receive those emails as part of the class-wide notification. If you end up with a charge on your account, please let us know and we’ll take care of it!
