Catalog Coordination - Booklog version 15 or higher
The RedShelf catalog should be coordinated regularly to avoid failures at the POS due to catalog changes. The Coordinate Only feature uses the RedShelf API to check for price and availability updates for items already in your local catalog.
Anytime a RedShelf item's price changes, its SKU also changes. Coordination changes both the price and SKU to the new values, and places the old SKU in Alternate Identifiers so that the old SKU will still scan at the POS. Coordination also removes any items no longer available in the RedShelf catalog from your local database.
Coordinate daily during rush and weekly during other times.
RedShelf Coordinate Only Function
1. Go to File > Import > eBook Catalog & Coordinate
2. Select RedShelf Coordinate Only
3. Click OK
4. The coordination window will open. Items check-marked in the DEL column are no longer available and will be deleted. Items highlighted in pink have price changes; their prices and SKUs will be updated, and their old SKUs will be placed into Identifiers as alternates. Click Save to make these changes.
5. After coordinating, be sure to update retail prices. To update the retail prices, go to Inventory > Pricing Factors, select the RedShelf ebook pricing factor, and click Update Retail. This will update all of the local RedShelf ebook items’ selling prices.
Note: If you are not on a version of Booklog that allows for catalog coordination, you will need to import a new catalog file to update pricing. If you would like to import a full RedShelf catalog file, please contact tech@booklog.com to obtain that file link. If you would like to import a match list of your adoptions only, please contact bookstorehelp@redshelf.com to have your request routed to the correct RedShelf representative.
